| Description: | MCSO has fulltime Jailer positions available.
Applicant must be at least 18 years of age, must have HS Diploma or GED. Must possess and maintain a valid GA drivers license. No prior convictions. Must obtain and maintain P.O.S.T Basic Jail Officer Certification within 6 months of appointment and must pass background check, drug screen drug and a Psych Evaluation.
Job Description:
Provide and maintain security, safety, care and control of inmates, detention facility,
and facility equipment and to supervise inmates.
Duties
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other
duties may be required and assigned.
Enforces all jail rules and regulations; maintains inmate discipline and a secure and peaceful jail
environment; takes custody of and searches new arrivals; escorts inmates to various parts of the jail
and/or court facility.
Supervises inmates attending visitation and during recreation, medical call, and vocational and
educational training; reports unusual observations to superiors.
Performs a variety of clerical tasks such as photocopying documents, obtaining computer, copier and
camera supplies, answering the telephone, and filing.
Work Schedule:
12 hour shifts from 6:00 to 6:00. Must be able to work weekends, holiday's and nights when assigned.
