| Description: | Madison County BOC is accepting applications for a Mechanic at the County Road Department. Major duties include maintenance and repair on various vehicles and equipment including Road Department heavy equipment, police squad cars, ambulances, trucks and tractors. Applicant must be able to perform oil changes, brake repairs, hydraulic repairs, heavy implement replacement and other general repairs on heavy equipment including welding if necessary. Applicant must have a valid driver’s license, CDL preferred but not required, must be able to pass a drug screen, background check and have a good driving record. Hours are Monday thru Friday from 7:30 to 4:00. Candidate must be able to work in the outside environment all year round, be able to lift approximately 50 pounds, be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
